5 questions we just needed to ask Tiffany.

1) How did you come up with the Idea of Drunk Elephant?

It was 2008 and the world was in a deep recession. I needed to make some extra money and I started to sell a soap-bar from Malaysia. I also used the bar myself, but I founded out it wasn’t good for my skin. That led me to my journey to find better ingredients than are being used in common beauty products.

2) How did you come up with the name – Drunk Elephant?

Our first product was a hydrating macula oil, and when elephants in Africa eat the fruit from marula trees, they get drunk. I didn’t want to name it after myself, because I’m not a doctor.

3) What is your secret for the succes of Drunk Elephant?

The most important reason for the succes is because it works. I listen to the consumers and make products they ask for.

4) How do you keep up with competition?

I don’t look at other brands. For instance; I don’t go into Sephora anymore. Furthermore; I don’t follow trends either. I don’t compare myself and don’t think myself as a competitor.

5) How do you see the future of Drunk Elephant?

Expending the Drunk Elephant range and making stuff which our customers really ask for. That’s it!
