Weleda Skin Food

Weleda is in business since 1921 and claims to only use certified Organic and Biodynamic ingredients and to avoid parabens and synthetic ingredients. They also claim to have a personal approach to health care using natural ingredients that can fully work with and support skin to heal.

The packaging

I do like the packaging of Weleda Skin Food, gained my trust despite package is a bit smaller than I expected. The tube is more hygienic than any pot and you can squeeze the exact amount you need to use.

The ingredients

Weleda Skin Food is rich in natural lanolin, I do know some people who are extremely sensitive to lanolin. The truth is that lanolin work well if you have extremely dry skin. Another thing is that lanolin absorbs moisture around it, rejuvenating the dry skin tissue and relieving the pain and skin cracking. Also is important to consider some other ingredients like pansy extract, calendula extract, sweet almond oil and hydrolyzed beeswax — so I can tell you with confidence that there is no evil pore-blocking going on.

Applying

Since is very thick then you have to warm it up in your hands, also keep in mind this is not for daytime use, needs time to sink in so the best use you can give it to is to occasionally replace any night cream or nighttime moisturiser. If you straight up apply this to your face and try to rub it in, it will tug on your skin so DO NOT. Remember to use this after all other face products and treatments like my toner, mask and serum. Could be useful for your hands if you can afford to have them all covered by and therefore not able to use them.

The results

Feels heavy-ish and your face wash really shiny, but I woke up this morning with healed skin that looks, well, it looks better! It’s not too expensive and it’s natural.

The downsides

It is quite thick and heavy. Also a bit on the greasy side.

Conclusion

This works quite well on my skin, and it’s sticky enough to function as a nice moisturised sheen when you want that glow, dewy, no-makeup look. In my opinion Weleda Skin Food have been quietly flying under the radar, it is a good product for an even better price ($ 7,- USD). So yes be brave and rub this thick goo on your face and get your skin utterly balanced. We’ll rate it 4 out of 5. The highest score we have ever given to a product under $ 10 ,- USD!
