I will never forget the woman that sold me the Skin Therapy Day Shield of Lancaster skincare. I was in Amsterdam for business and it was very sunny. So I went to a popular mall called “De Bijenkorf” and I was searching for a cream to buy with a high SPF. This one has SPF 30 and that’s as high as it gets. The woman told me that Lancaster put air in their skin therapy cream, so I started to laugh right away. But when I tried it in the store, I was surprised in a pleasant way. The cream felt very light, felt good, wasn’t “over perfumed” and had a high SPF. So I decided to buy the “Skin Therapy Day Shield”. It cost me about 40 euros, about $50,- for 1.7 fl. oz. / 50 ml. UPDATE: JULI 28 2015: You can buy this cream for less than $35,-.
After a day I noticed the downsides already. This cream dries out very quickly, which is too bad.* An other thing is that my face was glowing when I didn’t use a primer on top of it. After I used it for a week or so, my mom tried it (69 years old). She experienced the exact same thing.
Conclusion:
The high SPF protects your skin from harmful UV-radiation. That’s it. It’s actually an overpriced sunscreen.
