Is Coffee bad for your skin?

Just like anything else; too much of it is never good. But drinking 2 cups of coffee a day (without milk and sugar) can actually be very beneficial for your skin, especially for the under eye-area.

The caffeine in coffee has a number of benefits for your skin, from treating redness and inflammation, to reducing the appearance of under-eye circles, to getting rid of cellulite (2008 study performed at the University of São Paulo). Dark under-eye circles can be caused by a number of factors, including dehydration, allergies, lack of sleep or genetics.

Caffeine can NOT cure hereditary dark circles. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it beneficial in reducing puffiness and inflammation associated with dark circles. Caffeine reduces the accumulation of blood under your eyes which contributes to dark shadows.

An other benefit of caffeine is that it Repairs UV Damage. Studies have indicated that caffeine may also repair the skin damage caused by exposure to UV rays. It is considered a stronger antioxidant than the polyphenols contained in green tea. In fact, it is among the best and strongest antioxidants to combat UV damage.

So the answer is NO! Coffee is good for your skin, but try not to drink more than 2 cups a day.
