Best Face Mask

The Face Mask market has exploded the past 3 years and searching online for the best face mask for your skin type can be very difficult. There is simply so much choice. You always end up with a couple of well-known magazines that have “rated” face masks. Truth is that these brands pay a LOT of money to be “rated”. So what is really the best face mask? And is there such thing as a “best face mask”?

First of all. Every skin type is different, so what works best for somebody with oily skin for example will maybe not work for somebody with dry skin. The past years I have treated thousands of people and one thing is for sure: There isn’t such thing like Best Anti Aging cream or Best serum or Best Face Mask or whatever. So I have 2 favourites I use in my salon.

  1. Best Face Mask for Oily Skin (Also best for combination type and normal)

This is my number 1 favourite Face Mask. Last year the MUDMASKY Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask has won the award of “Best Face Mask” and is now also rated #1 Mud Mask by Ipsy customers. Check out the link to the Ipsy website where you can read all 33,000 reviews. Yes 33,000 reviews!! This Amsterdam-based company has fully committed on making ONLY ph-balanced face masks. They have stopped retailing in actual stores (Mudmasky says they want to control customer service) and are now only available via their official website (Mudmasky.com).

2. Best Face Mask for Dry Skin

The Intensive Moisture Balance by Dermalogica isn’t actually a Face Mask, but I use it in my salon as a Face Mask for people who have dry skin. It’s an awesome way to infuse your skin with hydration. So how to use it as a Face Mask? Easy clean the skin with ONLY water. Rub the Intensive Moisture Balance on your face with a clean brush. Use plastic foil to cover your face (don’t forget to cut out holes for breathing) for half an hour. Next wash your face with water and rub a small portion on your face again. Do this 1 or 2 times a week.
