Olive Oil nourishes the skin, but why is olive oil healthy and what are the benefits for the skin?
A recent study examined more than 1,900 men and women diet, sun exposure, exercise, age, and geographic location. The participants were more than 2 years tracked and this revealed that those with little monounsaturated fatty acids in their diets have an increased risk of skin aging and skin diseases.
Health benefits of olive oil
Monounsaturated fatty acids are found mainly in nuts and oils such as olive oil. Of these fatty acids was already known to have a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system, the cholesterol level and blood sugar and that they are anti-inflammatory.
Now there is a link between higher use of olive oil and a healthier appearance and reduced aging.
Protective effect of antioxidants
